Admission of Pupils
The number of pupils admitted in 2021 year is 120.
The agreed admissions limit for the annual intake of pupils is 130.
Pupils will be admitted without reference to ability or aptitude during the academic year that they reach the age of 5 years.
The agreed admissions limit for the annual intake of pupils is 60. Application forms can be obtained at the school’s Headmaster office and on the school website. We advise parents to register their children early due to fewer places available. Even then, entry may not be assured. The register will be reviewed and updated on annual basis.
Our oversubscription policy for the year starting 1st January 2021 is: The published admission number for Elysian Primary School is 125.
Where there are more applications than the number of remaining places, pupils will be prioritised in accordance with the oversubscription criteria as set out below:-

Where the child has a sibling attending the school at the time of entry. In this context, a sibling is a brother or sister who lives as brother or sister in the same house, including natural brothers and sisters, adopted siblings, stepbrothers or sister and foster brothers and sisters.

Children of staff at school where: 1)The member of staff has been employed at the school for two or more years at the time at which the application for admission is made or: 2) The member of staff is recruited to fill a vacant post for which there is a demonstrable skill shortage.

If your application is successful, each child will be given an entry test before being considered. Competence in the English Language is a pre-requisite and no child gains entry without being able to communicate in basic English and Twi. Each child is also given a ‘readiness for learning’ assessment when being considered for entry into the Class 1 upwards.
