About Us.

Choosing the right school for your child is one of the most important, and most daunting, decisions a parent has to undertake. At Elysian, it is our privilege to nurture the whole child and as such, we aim to provide a balance of social, moral and academic learning opportunities.

Your child is as important to us as they are to you, and we strive to ensure that the time they spend in our care enables them to flourish and achieve their full potential.

We provide a solid foundation for life-long learning in our happy, high achieving school. Our children and staff have high expectations of themselves, demonstrate mutual respect and aspire to excel. We are a school to which the whole school community, children, staff, parents and governors are proud to belong. We hope that all the members of our school community will come to regard the time they have spent with us as enjoyable, valuable and supportive.

We believe that together we make a difference and by sharing the same values, we help each other to be the most responsible, considerate and positive human beings we can be.

Our core values:

Respect:

Respect for other and self, and the building of harmonious relationships within the school and the wider community.

Nurture:

Taking care of the children and believing in their potential.

Integrity:

Truthful and honest in all areas, in our professional work and in our personal lives

Trust:

Behaving with openness and honesty to build trust in everything we do.

Togetherness:

Pulling together as one unit- staff, parents, governors and the local community.

Alongside our school values, we recognise the importance of ensuring our children understand and follow our Ghanaian values. These values are embedded within our curriculum- they are values the children live by as well as learn.

We always try to treat children with consideration and respect. As a result, we hope they will learn to respect other people and have a responsible attitude to the general care of the school. We believe the development of self-control and an acceptance of responsibility for their actions is essential if children are to live happily in a community.

We also have a number of school rules of which children will be reminded from time to time. These are designed to ensure a safe and orderly school environment.

If a child’s behaviour is spoiling the happy school atmosphere, discussions will be held with the child’s parents in order to find the best way to improve the child’s behaviour.

… To conclude, a little bit of history, and how to come to see us and join us

Elysian International School was first opened on 18th January 2021 as a Primary School.

The school is nondenominational and caters for pupils of 3 months to eleven years. “This is a very good school. The pupils achieve high standards in most aspects of their education. They experience a high proportion of very good teaching. The school is very well managed and uses its resources and funding very effectively. It provides good value for money”

“Elysian provides a good quality of education for its pupils. The school sees itself in this way and inspectors agree. Children get off to a good start in the Foundation Stage.

Pupils leave the school at the end of Junior High School (JHS) with standards that are above average. All pupils, including those with learning difficulties, make good progress in their learning.

Pupils very much enjoy being at school and their behaviour is excellent. They have positive attitudes and feel safe and valued as individuals. Staff take very good care of pupils.”

“Elysian is an outstanding school that has very successfully built on its strengths since it opened. Pupils and parents alike are very positive about their experiences of the school, often pointing to its ability to foster high academic standards within a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
